The Columbia Talent Magnet Project is a collaborative initiative between our region’s leading organizations focused on attracting and retaining talent in the Columbia, SC region.
Launched in 2008, the project is led by EngenuitySC, in partnership with The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Columbia’s Opportunity Resource (COR), the SC Council on Competitiveness (New Carolina), and the Columbia Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
The mission of the Columbia Talent Magnet Project is to build a talent-powered economy in the Greater Columbia region by focusing on attracting, engaging and retaining young, mobile knowledge workers.
In late 2010, EngenuitySC in partnership with the Columbia Chamber helped to fund, support, and re-launch Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR) as the leading community development organization focused on the next generation. COR’s new mission and vision will focus on engaging and connecting young professionals into the social, civic, and professional fabric of our community and executing the mission of the Columbia Talent Magnet Project. In addition, the City of Columbia is participating as one of 57 cities across the country for $1 million in funding to support talent attraction and retention through the CEOs for Cities Talent Dividend Challenge. EngenuitySC will continue to play a crucial role in connecting these young professionals into entrepreneurship opportunities in the region.
